Family Federation for World Peace and Unification logoUnificationist Calendar

The Unificationist Calendar is a combination of lunar and solar dates.  In the listing below, the solar dates are noted by only designating the year that celebration came into existence.  Those dates celebrated according to the lunar calendar show the complete lunar date.  It is said that in the Kingdom of Heaven every day will be a celebration and that one day all will be celebrated according to the solar calendar.  The major holy days are designated in bold.

There are numerous different "lunar" calendars.  Most people are familiar with the Chinese lunar calendar and other lunar calendars of other religions.  The lunar dates used by the Unificationist calendar correspond to the Japanese lunar calendar.  This differs slightly from the Chinese calendar--usually by a day or so every so often.

Each nation, state, family or locality should also add to this calendar any local events to commemorate--i.e., visits of True Parents, Father's visit establishing the holy ground, establishment of any local organizations, anniversaries of any local blessings, birthday celebrations of the first and current missionaries to their nation, etc.

Due to the manner in which the lunar calendar corresponds with the solar calendar, Hyo Jin Nim's, Un Jin Nim's, Shin Choon Nim's,  and Yun Ah Nim's birthdays are not celebrated in 2009.

Due to the manner in which the lunar calendar corresponds with the solar calendar, Hyo Jin Nim's, Un Jin Nim's, and Shin Choon Nim's birthdays are celebrated twice in 2008.

To facilitate creating the calendars, I have returned to a full year's list of dates.  This allows me to spend more time on the important part--gathering information on the dates.  Major holy days are noted by the HSA logo with the text.  Links to more information are standard hypertext links, rather than buttons.  Sabbaths are noted by the spinning FFWPU logos.

Every attempt has been made to create an accurate calendar, and I'd like to keep it that way. If there are discrepancies, please feel free to contact me. A lot of work and effort goes into this calendar's creation -- including learning Japanese to be able to read an accurate lunar-solar calendar source, and gaining an understanding of the workings of the lunar calendar.  If there are any discrepancies between this calendar and ones issued by the movement in Japan or in Korea, please let me know.
